Recovering old style DMS sqkm mapping on Android via the Digital Map Store

If you have a new Android device and wish to download your existing Digital Map Shop maps onto it then you will need to migrate the licence from the old Android device the maps were on to the new one. This done by following the guide HERE

  1. Press Maps and select a base map (such as OS 250k Road Atlas)
  2. Locate an area that you previously activated and downloaded.
  3. Press Maps > Digital Map Store > Maps at View
  4. You will now see a list of maps available from the Digital Map Shop:
    • If you see your map listed then tap on the map name.
    • If you don't see your map listed then tap Map Types and ensure that all types are ticked then go back to the Digital Map Shop and it should list more maps.
  5. Memory-Map should now begin to re-download the mapping. Areas that you’ve previously activated should appear as normal mapping and areas you’ve not activated will come up pixelated.

Tip: If you Maps > Blue Arrow next to the map name > Chunk Status then the Memory-Map app will display the areas you’ve previously downloaded as blue squares

Note: If you try to view an area that you did not originally have on your old device or you have not yet migrated your licence then there will be an Activate button in the top right-hand corner of the screen, If you tap this button the app will request you to spend sqkm credit. The Memory-Map app will not use sqkm credit for any areas you previously activated on the old device that you migrated from.
