On rare occasions, it may be necessary to completely clean out all the data and settings from the Memory-Map application and start over with a fresh installation. This article shows how.
This assumes you are using Windows 10 and the latest version of Memory-Map.
- Sign in to your PC using a user account with Administrative rights
- First, uninstall the application(s)
- Press the Windows key > Settings > Apps
- Find Memory-Map 6 in the list, and click Uninstall
- Click the Uninstall button in the pop up to confirm the uninstall
- Press Yes if prompted
- Also uninstall other Memory-Map apps, if they are listed
- Next, delete your maps and data files.
- Launch Windows File Explorer
- Click the "View" tab in the menu bar
- Enable "Hidden Items"
- Navigate to following folders, and delete them, if they exist (Note: replace <username> with each user on the computer)
- C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Map Overlays
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map-License
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Memory-Map
- C:\ProgramData\Memory-Map-License
- C:\Maps
- C:\Maps_<Vx>
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Memory-Map
- Next, delete the settings stored in the Windows Registry
- Hold down the Windows key on the keyboard, and press the Q key to open the search box
- Type regedit and press Enter
- Click Yes at the security warning
- Press the arrow next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Press the arrow next to SOFTWARE
- Right click on Memory-Map
- Select Delete
- Press Yes if prompted
