In Memory-Map for All, the Join Track command is a great way to combine track sections that may have been recorded at different times, or to fill in a missing segment of a track with a hand-drawn section.
To create a hand-drawn track section, create a route, then convert it into a track. Using a mouse, you can hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard to draw a smooth route.
To join tracks, slide the selection to the end point of the track and use the context menu to select the Join Track command.
The join command appears in the menu if you have selected the end point of a track and there is a joinable track end near by. "Near by" means within about 5mm at the zoom level that you are viewing the map.
If the join command doesn't appear in the menu:
- Have you selected the very end point of the track? You can slide the selection along the track to the end. If there is a messy end (typical if you were stationary for a while), it is best to use the Split Track command to trim the track so you have a clean end.
- Is there a joinable end? You can only join the tail end of one track to the begining of another or vice versa. You cannot join tracks going in the opposite direction.
- Is the end of the other track near enough? It needs to be within roughly 1/4 inch on the screen. You can zoom out or change map scales to bring the ends closer together.
This video (made using the old Memory-Map app) illustrates the use of Join Track. https://support.memory-map.com/909803-Split-and-Join-a-track-or-a-route
It is also possible to split and join Routes.
