On rare occasions, it may be necessary to completely clean out all the data and settings from the Memory-Map application and start over with a fresh installation. This article shows how.
First, it is a good idea to make a backup of your overlay data and your maps. Use the context menu (right-click or tap-and-hold) in the Overlays list to save your overlay data to a number of GPX files.
You can also make a backup copy of your maps, using the Map List > Menu > Map Storage > Backup Maps To... However, if the app is crashing, don't be in too much of a hurry to reload your maps. A corrupt map file is the cause of most crashes. If possible, download a fresh copy of the maps.
To do a clean uninstall, on iOS and Android, all you have to do is install the app in the normal way. On Windows Mac and Linux, uninstalling the app will not remove the data files - these have to be removed manually. You can just rename the folders it you think you may want to revert to the original data.
