Recovering old style DSM sqkm mapping on iOS via the Digital Map Store

If you have a new iOS device and wish to download your existing Digital Map Shop maps onto it then you will need to migrate the licence from the old iOS device the maps were on to the new one. This done by following the guide HERE

  1. Launch the Memory-Map app.
  2. Tap Maps and select a base map (such as OS 250k Road Atlas)
  3. Locate an area that you previously activated and downloaded.
  4. Tap Maps > My Online Maps > Maps Everywhere
  5. You will now see a list of maps available from the Digital Map Shop
  6. Tap Old Editions > Topo X
  7. Tap on the name of the map that you purchased.
  8. Memory-Map will now begin to re-download the mapping. Areas that you’ve previously activated should appear as normal mapping and areas you’ve not activated will come up pixelated.

If you'd like the Memory-Map app to download all the map tiles at once then you will want to do the following:

  1. Tap Maps > blue i next to the map name > Bulk Download > move the sliders furthest to the right > Start.
  2. You should now be able to view any areas of mapping you’ve previously activated.

Tip: If you Tap Maps > blue i next to the map name > Chunk Status then the Memory-Map app will display the areas you’ve previously downloaded as blue squares

Note: If you try to view an area that you did not originally have on your old device or you have not yet migrated the licence then there will be an Activate button in the top right-hand corner of the screen, If you tap this button the app will request you to spend sqkm credit. The Memory-Map app will not use sqkm credit for any areas you previously activated on the old device that you migrated from.
